Todd & Amy Rogers Scholarship
The Todd and Amy Rogers Foundation was established in 2004 to honor the memories of Todd and Amy who tragically perished in a mid-air collision on August 22, 2003.
About
In addition to being a University of Minnesota Rugby alumnus, Todd was an accomplished athlete: he was a long-time member of the St. Paul Pigs Rugby Club, and also successfully completed the 2001 Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon held in San Francisco.
Amy was a graduate of the Apparel Design and Manufacturing program at UW-Stout, and was a skilled seamstress and costume designer who also ran her own business, Currier Designs. She was also a gifted cook and catered many events over the years. However, her passion was pottery and she designed, threw, fired, and showed her pottery wares at Art Fairs across Minnesota.
Following the accident, a group of friends and family formed the Foundation with the principal purpose of establishing a permanent endowment to support two annual scholarships in the names of Todd and Amy.
One of the scholarships will be awarded to a University of Wisconsin-Stout student, Amy's alma-mater, majoring in either art or apparel design.
The second scholarship will be dedicated for a student athlete affiliated with the University of Minnesota rugby program where Todd played collegiate rugby.
